Schedules and Fees:

         DAY ONE is usually 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.and covers the followspot optics and electronics

         DAY TWO is usually 8:00 a.m. to around Noon, and is typically hands-on for the attendees, provided equipment is available at the class site

         This schedule may vary from session to session, and may sometimes occupy up to three full days.

         The seminar is generally limited to 20 attendees, at $1,500 per group ($75.00 per student)

         The trainer may be available to come in early or stay additional days, for an additional $500 per day.

Training Session Curriculum:

         Teaches lighting technicians to solve common problems encountered during operation and maintenance of Strong follow spots.

         Emphasis is usually placed on the Xenon Super Trouper, Super Trouper II, and Gladiators, and the associated power supplies. Other spotlights may be covered in the session by prior arrangement.

         Manuals for all the units under study will be distributed.

         DAY ONE: Students spend most of the day (approximately 9:00AM-4:30 PM) with the manual and working on the operating theories of the igniter, xenon lamp, and optical system.

         DAY TWO: Usually spent in hands-on instruction on focusing, lamp installation, maintenance, and in answering specific questions of participants. Part of this session is dedicated to problems of the power supply and what not to do to about it.

Topics include:

Basic Trouble shooting   Power supply, igniter or bulb?

Re-lamping and focusing Bulb and reflector installation and attendant concerns.

Lubrication of various components.

Basics of Xenon spotlight function.

Identifying power supply problems, and what not to do about them.
